We’ve just received word that students at John Dewey High School (50 Ave X) staged a mass walkout earlier today – apparently in protest of city plans to close the school, terminate senior staff members and re-open multiple “co-located” schools in the same building.
According to website Ed Notes, students also walked out in protest of the city’s current education policy at Satellite Academy in the Bronx.
This is a breaking news story and may contain inaccuracies. The article will be updated as more information becomes available.
