    • YWN: “Super Jews” Square Off Over “Super-Jewish” District

    As word spreads that Governor Andrew Cuomo may go for the New York State Legislature’s most recent redistricting proposals – despite eery similarities to earlier proposals he had vowed to veto – two local pols debate the pros and cons of a “Super-Jewish” State Senate district stretching from Borough Park to Marine Park.

    In the above audio [via Yeshiva World News], Councilman David Greenfield – a Democrat who opposes the creation of a single, heavily Orthodox Jewish district – goes on State Assemblyman Dov Hikind’s radio program to debate the issue.

    Assemblyman Hikind, who is also a Democrat, backs the unified district.

    Many speculate the district would be a boon to Republicans, due to its residents’ relatively conservative voting habits.

    Hikind has been known to break with the Democratic Party at times, “most notably in his endorsement of Republican candidates George Pataki for governor in 1994, and George W. Bush for president.”

      A super “Jewish”District??? What do the narrow minded very religious Orthodox & Hasidim have in common with these open minded people who are reform, agnostic, athiest, or educated, people who understand evolution & science,who don’t believe that the world is only 6,000 years old. The very orthodox don’t consider Jews who are not religious to be Jews. Ask h Himmler who is a Jew? No super Jewish district.No all Asian, No all Hispanic, No all black, no all white, no more gerrymanding.

      Assemblyman, Dov Hikind, Super Jew?! Writing such a headline like that, is an insult to my five uncles, three American Jews, and two English Jews, who along with their Christian bretheren, took up arms, for their respective nations, to defeat the Nazis and the Imperial Japs during WWII. They might have been ordinary men, but they were the definition of what a true “Super Jew”is. Hikind and his ilk, do not reperesent the overwhelming majority of American Jews, even those in Brooklyn, and never will! It’s also an insult to create, any so called Jewish District, cause the overwhelming majority of American Jews, did not come here to create another ghetto, but to flourish, as others, in the ecumenical glow, of E Pluribus Unum! G-d Bless America, and the sacred flag under which we live. Cant believe that Hikind is a graduate of Brooklyn College?!
