A local elementary school was evacuated due to a low-level gas odor inside an unoccupied part of the building this morning.
The FDNY immediately responded and contractors are on site to address the problem, according to the Department of Education (DOE). Parents have been notified and police are also on the scene to help kids get picked up in an orderly manner.
Due to gas odor at PS 204 all students were relocated to New Utrecht HS auditorium with school staff. No injuries or reports of sickness.

“The safety and security of students and staff is our top priority,” a DOE spokesperson said.
There were no reported injuries or lightheaded children, according to cops.
