Here’s our roundup of some of the crime reports that happened in and around Bensonhurst in the last two weeks, courtesy of the NYPD’s 62nd Precinct.

  • A 90-year-old woman was shoved to the ground and elbowed from behind while walking on 86th street between 17th Avenue and Bay 16th Street, on May 18, according to the police report. She broke four ribs and was rushed to Lutheran Medical Center.
  • On May 18, a man returning from work noticed that someone had broken the rear window of his house on Highlawn Avenue and Avenue S and taken more than $500 worth of merchandise, say cops. He had left for work at 9am.
  • Never leave the keys in the car — or in the bus. A school bus driver learned this the hard way on May 23, when he parked his vehicle in a lot in front of a Yeshiva on 62nd Street and 15th Avenue, with the spare keys inside. The bus went missing, according to police.

Bay Parkway 77 Street beware 2 Hispanic or African American teens walking into driveways looking to burglarize. One has very large afro type hairstyle seen them on multiple streets in the seventies. Help your neighbors be safe from petty thugs, burglary leads to more serious crimes!
