A man was killed in broad daylight today in a drive-by shooting in Borough Park.

The 36-year-old victim was sitting in his van at around 12:20pm, at the intersection, when a second car pulled up beside him and a gunman started shooting, police told the New York Post.

The victim was struck several times in the torso, according to the NYPD. EMS arrived and transported him to Maimonides Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. There are no arrests at this time and the investigation is ongoing.

We will update this post as we learn more.

Update [11pm]: Police have identified the victim as 36-year-old Henry Nashan of Crown Heights.

ABC 7 reports that at the time of the shooting Nashan had been working for Win, Inc., an organization that helps homeless women and children, and had been transporting a client to an appointment.

The organization is headed by former City Council Speaker Christine Quinn.

“Out of an abundance of caution, Win has suspended all operations of our vehicle fleet and enhanced our security protocols at all of our facilities throughout New York,” Quinn said in a statement. “Win is working with the NYPD to help in their investigation and ensure that the perpetrators of this heinous crime are held accountable.”

Cops say they are looking for two men in their 20s who were driving a red Nissan Rogue.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline for Spanish. The public can also submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at or by texting tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then entering TIP577.
